It appears my sweet spot in photography is B&W as I seem more in tune with forms, textures and contrasts than with colors and subjects. I'm often looking in awe at other photos, particularly B&W, on this forum and learning lots from it. Compared to other forums like DPReview (as good as it is though!) this forum is really photo focused and not gear or technique oriented. Appeals to me much more, besides the flattering comments

Hey Ad, I really like how both you and @IainGFoulds are so good at finding forms and shapes in the world around you. When we started FocalWorld 6 years ago, most of us were refuges from other large forums, and I think we were all tired of the gear orientated focus and just wanted to go back to our origins of capturing enticing photos. Your comment made me think back to when I started photographing at about 11 or 12 years old. I never gave thought to what kind of camera I was using, in fact it didn't matter at all. I just wanted something that would let me capture an image on film, and then being able to take it into the dark room and tease life out of the film. I hope we have gone back to that love for the image, and not what was used to capture the image.
