Lone tree, frozen field

A lone tree in a frozen field, taken from the roadside yesterday evening on my way home from work. Now that the days are getting longer, leaving at 5 is offering some nice sunset opportunities. I leave a little early if I see conditions are good from my office window. Last weekend's rain and warm spell (40's) melted a bunch of the snow which was up to the knee. Temperatures are dropping though and we're sure to get some more snowfall in the coming weeks.

Classic. Love the pattern on the snow and the cool winter color with just a band of sunset. The only thing I would do would be a touch of darkening of the upper right corner, which is just a bit lighter than the rest of the sky.

Hi all, thanks so much for your comments! I neglected to respond earlier so am getting to that now. I lucked out having this on the roadside and happening to pass by at the right hour. I'll have to drive by it again to see what this tree has to offer now that the fields are green
