Lunch Time in Estes Park

I was driving through Estes Park on the way to RMNP when I spotted this bull elk grazing along a road that passed through some cabins. I drove through and parked about 200 feet from the bull elk. He kept browsing and moving toward me. He stopped about 25 feet from me and started eating leaves for a bush. I shot this image from inside my car with the window rolled down. Larry got lucky again! ;)

Larry, you are lucky! I sure love the pose of this.

Estes Park is such an amazing little town. At times you can see a whole herd of elk blocking the roads. Or one time I saw one that had Christmas lights strung along it's antlers. Who knew Elk were so into Christmas? :)
