I captured M33 for the first time back in October of 2022. Here I reprocessed that data with the view to pull out more luminosity and color. I hope I didn't over process it. I work on a laptop, the colors don't always translate and when posting it's a challenge to know when I've gone too far. Perhaps I should adhere to "less is more". What are your thoughts?

Nikon D5500, Redcat51, SWSA tracker, Asiair plus, guided, Optolong L-pro filter, Bortle 5+.
ISO400, 83x180" subs, calibration frames; darks, flats, bias.
Stacked and processed in Pixinsight.

Wow John! Great work here. I would say the colors are perfect. I know I probably would have brought more color out, but I think I sometimes bring out too much. So yours? I would say it's perfect.

I see you are using the L-Pro, and you have some nice red in the star forming regions. Did you do anything special to bring that red out? I have been using both the L-Pro and the L-Enhance on galaxies, and I pull the stronger Ha signal from the L-Enhance for the star forming regions. To get that with just the L-Pro would be nice.

Thank you Jim, I appreciate that. For the red I used Bill Blanshan’s color masks. To get in tighter I used GAME script masks to isolate the very small areas of Ha and then curves to bring up the red. So not quite scientific like actually capturing the Ha wavelength but it seemed to work.

Very nice job. I have not seen the blue regions before, that is a little unique. The details are nice on this too as it has low surface brightness so not easy to get the detail to come out.
