"Meet Isis"

Cuba - Real and Raw

Yes, her name is really Isis. While some of us were walking around Trinidad in the evening we came across a restaurant/bar that was open. Isis was the hostess and greeter at the front door. She presented herself as an excellent "Faces of Cuba" subject and quickly found about six photographers all taking her picture, at the same time! She was a good sport about suddenly becoming a model. Naturally we decided to go into the bar and try the local drink selection. Isis told us that she is a psychologist, but since she lives in Cuba she must have another job. Presumably, to make ends meet since wages are controlled by the government.

Which do you like better - Color or Black& White?

Color for me. There's something about the hue for that yellow on the wall that injects a mood into the scene that gets lost with the B&W.

That's my eyes talking - YMMV. There are a lot of compelling aspects to the B&W as well but the color grabs me more.

Hey Tex,

What a cool subject.

I really liked your color and thought it was great. But I didn’t know there was another option until I scrolled down and saw the B&W version.

Now I think the color is very strong, and I couldn’t really nitpick it, well until I saw the B&W. For me the B&W is the strongest because of one reason, and I didn’t even notice it until a viewed the B&W and realized a distraction was now absent. And that’s the TV in the upper right. In the color version the TV grabs my eye, but in the B&W the TV blends into the background and only one thing jumps out at me and holds my attention and that’s her face. It’s actually amazing the difference I think between the 2 versions after I could see both.
