Merced Dogwood Fireworks

From a couple of months ago I guess now, this is in Yosemite and I was working the backlit dogwoods along the Merced. I found a spot where the river would splish and splash once in a while, so I was timing my shots to get some cool splashes. This kind of reminds me of the 4th of July Sparklers.

All comments are welcome,

Jim

i had to laugh at the porcupine comment.

wonderful image jim, i love how the branch overhangs the water and points the eye right to the explosion of water. i also love the long exposure effect, it's long enough to give some movement, but the water detail isn't completely blurred. you managed to pick the perfect shutter speed.

Thanks so much Pepper! It was nice to find a spot where all of those elements came together. I usually avoid going so long with the shutter speed that everything turns to milk. I would have to double check but the shutter speed was probably 1/5th to 1/10th of a sec.
