Good morning! Happy Friday. Yet another Mesa Arch image. I always try to shoot it from a new angle just for fun. Have a good one out there.
Interesting second image, Ben. The difference in the sky above and below the arch is stark. Is this a blend?Good idea here, I like both of these, and have a couple of my own.
Here is one from the road below, and another at very early morning.

Sorry to hijack the thread. This is a heavy crop taken with a 400mm lens.LIke the first one - I have never shot that angle although I have shot other ones.
That difference in lighting on the very early morning shot is really interesting!Good idea here, I like both of these, and have a couple of my own.

Hey Ben, I have had the same exact thing happen on my night shots from Mesa Arch. The arch is much wider then we think sometimes and it hides the gradiation that is naturally there from the horizon so then it makes the separated sky brightness so obvious. I have actually gone on mine when that happens and just darken the lower sky even though it was naturally lighter, because the difference would just catch my own eye too much. Not a blend, but taken during a full moon where the moon was lighting the arcrh. The brighter sky under the arch was the approaching dawn.
Very cool Ryan! I like this different angle. It's looking like a bunch of us have tried to come up with different takes on Mesa Arch. I have some too, though I don't think I have ever processed them.Good morning! Happy Friday. Yet another Mesa Arch image. I always try to shoot it from a new angle just for fun.
