Misty morning in Haute-Savoie

Hi all, I revisited some photos I took one misty morning last October here in France. My husband and I were heading out early on a 6-hour roadtrip. One minute down the road, I noticed this field filled with mist, so I made us stop so I could take pictures for a good 20-30 minutes. He made good use of the time by running to get us some croissants for breakfast

In the first one, I got low so I could get the clouds of vapor rising up from the ground in the foreground...I noticed tonight that the vapor is also making what looks like blurry patches over the tree & sunrays in the background. It looks a little weird but I think I like the ambience anyway. All comments welcome!

The vapor clouds add a nice ambience to the scene. The second image with the shadow rays grabs my attention a little more than the first one.

I like that! It's nice and simple.

#2 is probably my favorite too. I love shooting back-lit scenes like this, but it's challenging to shoot directly into the sun. On the tree, for example, there's quite a lot of noise or some kind of degradation in the detail of the branches, I assume that's due to it being completely washed in light so that twigs and fine detail start to get lost.

I'm aware that the Canon 6D Mark II is known to be pretty noisy. I wonder how a different camera (such as the 5D Mark IV) and/or lens would render these kinds of scenes differently.
