Momma Moose and Calf in GTNP

this momma moose started off very calm and easy going until she went off into the woods - came back in hysterics - jumping and snorting and running all around pushing the calf back across the beaver pond - I think there was something in the woods that spooked her - eventually she gathered up her little one and ran off into the woods - here is the reunion

Wow - great capture. How close were you to this scene? What focal length were you working with?

We were across the beaver pond and probably at 40 yards - I use a canon 400 DO II + 1.4 ext = 560mm with my Canon 5d IV - it was crazy at one point had too much lens - and my husband was shooting my shorter camera 24-105 - was not planning on this action but managed to get a lot of fun shots
