Monument Valley

After I finished in Page, AZ, I drove to Monument Valley with a brief detour at Navajo National Monument.

To put it bluntly, Monument Valley is crazy. It's like a different planet there. I spent two nights here, so I was able to witness a couple of sunsets and sunrises that took my breath away. I booked a private tour with a Navajo guide during my full day here. It was supposed to last 2.5 hours but it stretched to nearly 5. The guide and I forged a really strong connection quite quickly and he took me to various places around the valley, including four of the arches, all of which I could feel emitting some sort of energy. The whole valley seems to have this energy.

My time in Monument Valley ended up becoming one of the best experiences of my life, as well as my favorite stop on this road trip.

Very nice Michael! Monument Valley is an awesome place. Did you stay at the View Hotel? One of the funnest things is to then set up your camera on the patio of your hotel room and shoot the night sky and/or Milky Way.

I like all that you got, with #1 and 3 being my favorites.

A lot can be seen with just driving the loop road, but getting a guide like you did really adds to the experience. I am glad you did that.

Yes, I stayed at The View. Best view from my room in my entire life.

Outstanding set I really like the framining in 2 it’s more or less a standard look at the mittens but the tree in the foreground adds a lot to this
Thanks, Ben. It takes a bit of work to get a fresh take on that scene. There is a hiking trail from the hotel that leads up the mesa, but it gets a bit windy up there…

So glad you had a good experience there. Nice images. Sometimes those tours are worth it, but I'm afraid to ask how much of your money they got for it.

Nice images. Good to know you had a great experience. My only trip there was just half a day - arrived in time for sunset, stayed at the view hotel and did the valley loop at sunrise. A return trip is overdue.

Hiring a guide is definitely the way to go for Monument Valley. The last is my favorite. Surprised that you don't have a shot of Yei Bi Chei/Totem Pole -- maybe haven't processed it yet?
