Moonrise over salt flats

This is from the time Ben and I visited the Bonneville salt flats in Oct of this year. We were mostly shooting 180 degrees away towards the hills. As the sun set, the moon was rising and I grabbed a few frames in that direction. The vertical one is the last image I shot before packing for the day.

C&C Welcome

That last one is the prize for my eyes. The nice cloud colors and the outlines of the Wasatch Front in the distance with the saline polygons makes a very workable comp.

I will confess that for all the dozens of times I drove this stretch of I-80 between SLC and Bendover I rarely even slowed down while passing the flats.

That's an amazing spot. It so feels like Badwater in Death Valley. #1 is my favorite.

Thanks Alan. Well it gives you an excuse to visit the area again.

I like both of these Jameel, well done.
Thanks Ben. I am sure you have a few similar to this as well.

Really, really like these. The plane of the horizon divides earth and sky in a provocative way, and the colors and textures of the sky and earth contrast is distinctive. Very cool!
