One more from Jan '19 at Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park.

Shortly after my recent post of Elephant Butte, I moved around to John Ford Point and found, happily, that the clouds were still selective in where they let the sun shine.

Magnificent views abound in this place. Really wish I lived closer!

I like how the damp soil leaves a darker overall color palette than the usual dry we tend to see in images from MV. The clouds help with that as well.

There are many possible compositions from this point and I think you did an excellent job in selecting this one, Barry.

I know exactly how you feel, Barry. I first went there when I was in my twenties and slept on the ground right by those big rocks near the visitor center. As you can guess there were far fewer restrictions then. The road into the monument was mostly sand and you had to be careful not to get stuck. I have been back many times and I still miss it.
