Morning on Pelican Point

Testing out my new FE12-24/4. I love wide glass and this optic looks to be a good one. With this shot I used the Sony Smooth Reflection App (16 images) and processed in LR and Luminar. It was also a windy morning which is why the tree in the upper right and the ferns in the lower left are blurred.

Nice soft mood to the image and pleasing colors.

I am a little distracted by the boat houses on the left hand side. They appear to be distorted with a strong lean to the left. Is this an artifact of the lens?

Hey Bob,

Yeah, I have heard good things about that Sony 12-24mm. It looks like you put it to good use.

The blurring of the fern gives the impressing wind movement, perhaps because it has still retained some detail. But the leaves in the upper right, I think I would use Content Aware Fill to remove them, they don't work as well as the fern in my eye.

Thanks guys for the comments. This was much different processing than I usually do . . . experimental. Jim, I tried using content aware to remove the tree branches in the upper right but I couldn't get a nice smooth replacement.

Yeah, sometimes that can happen. Especially with so much of the corner occupied, it might not have been able to sample correctly.

And it's great to try different processing and pushing the envelope once in a while. I do that occasionally, and while I may not always like the end result, usually I pick up something new in the processing that I learned and can apply to my current workflow.
