Scott - nice to see your work again. I like both of them but find my eyes wandering back to the first one with the interesting mountain topography. The aqua blue glacier water in the lakes is amazing.

Great to see you here Scott, always a fan of your work.

The second stands out for me, special light, a tighter view and an iceberg to go with it.

Looking forward to your contributions here.

Hey Scott,

Welcome to Focal World, it's awesome to have you here! Your knowledge and expertise will be a welcome addition.

I do like #2 because of the gold light and the mini iceberg, but I have to say I like #1 better. You have captured some really nice soft light in it, the composition lays out some very inviting peaks. It was definitely worth the hike to get there.

Gorgeous Scott. I really like both of them for their different qualities with the compositional sweep and context of the first and the detail and colour of the second. Best of the summer! It's been a great one then!

Two different moods, both lovely! Love the soft light in the first and of course the drama in the second. Nicely done, Scott!

  1. AlanLichty: Thanks Alan - 1 is my favourite - it took a vigorous 1.5 hour hike with light fading and walking through the pain of my lungs bursting and feeling like I am going to puke, followed by this blissful moment perched precariously on a outcropping, and then walking down really tired in the pitch dark to get. Glad you like it too. Scott

  2. ckcarr: The 2nd one was the easy one. I just walked 2km on flat land sat by the water from my campsite. Glad you like it. Much appreciated. Scott

  3. Kyle Jones: Glad you like 2. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott

  4. Ben Egbert: Glad you like the images - Welcome back. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott

  1. Travis Rhoads: Thanks Travis - I appreciate the welcome. Glad you like 2. It was the easier one - the hardest part was recognizing that the berg had to be close in and then walking around until I found a spot with a close in berg. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott

  2. JimFox: Thanks Jim for the welcome. It was a fantastic day for hiking 40-50km and 3 hikes ending in 1. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott

  3. Martín el Escocés: Glad you like 2 for the differing qualities. Thank you for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott

  4. BarryHamilton: Glad you like the differing moods. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott

Wonderful images. I have always admired your photography Scott. So glad you hiked those 100kms. :) Curious why you didn't crop out the dead tree in the left foreground in the first picture though? Looking forward to seeing more of your work over here in Focal World.

Wow on the images and BIG WOW on walking 60+ miles to photograph them. And I though my 2 mile hike to Lone Pine Lake at 10K feet was rough. I cannot fathom 60+ miles.
