Mt. St. Helens - Winter Dome Building

A snowy image seemed appropriate for a Christmas Day post since we got an unexpected snowstorm yesterday and ended up white a fresh mantel of white this morning. Only the 6th time Vancouver has seen a white Christmas since the 1800's.

I posted a view of Mt. St. Helens in the Friday Snow thread and spotted another image in my collection from that snowshoe trip to process. This was during a cold snap that had a strong east wind blowing across the peaks of the Cascades as evidenced by the snow blowing at the high ridge lines of the volcano's crater. In this image the new dome in the crater is easily visible and steam can be seen venting from the exposed hot rocks.

C&C always welcome.

Hey Alan,

I was thinking the same thing that I should post a winter snow shot today, but fall colors turned me to the colored side!

Nice look of St. Helens.
