Mt. Whitney

lol...this is from my June backpacking trip out to that location. I've also been posting some of my stuff from several Joshua Tree trips. I'm about 2 hours from JT and 4 hours from Mt Whitney.

The great thing about the Lone Pine/Mt Whitney area is that there are roughly 100 miles of Sierra looking Southwest before any city lights, (Bakersfield), to worry about; hence, no light pollution.

A composite, but both images from same night. Like your lake pic, I had to shift the night image over a little to line up with Whitney.

:) I thought so. As familiar as I am with that area I was pretty sure you were set up facing a direction that wouldn't naturally line those two subject up with each other. It's a great composite, you have a touch of lightness across the base of the sky which gives it more realism. Mine's missing that, thought about adding it in but then decided I'm done with that image.

Wonderful shot here. I have had a love affair with that part of the sertria for over 60 years.
