My Best Milky Way and Astro of 2021

This is one of your best Jim. I love the phase of the moon sequence and the two Orion and Running Man images. The Black Canyon of the Gunnison MW was my favorite MW.

The Black Canyon is a great place for the Milky Way from the North Rim. Not so much the South Rim, but the North Rim is well aligned.
The issue there is like with any canyon, to do horizontal images like I would like for timelapses you end up losing so much of the canyon in order to get the Milky Way. Now for single images like the one here, it's not as bad since you can do a Horizontal pano, but that can't be done realistically for a timelapse. I can do it vertical, and maybe I am being too picky for timelapses? But the vertical being displayed on a horizontal TV just shrinks it too much I feel. And of course there is all the wasted space on both sides of the vertical timelapse.
Thanks so much Chuck! That moon phase was fun to create, a bit of work, and fortunately almost no clouds that I could capture the moon almost every day for 2 months.

Great work Jim! Some amazing work in there. Almost every one of the Milky Way images is fantastic, and lots of great astro images too. I especially like the Lagoon and Trifid Nebulae shot, and the North America Nebula shot, although in that one you also have a nicely captured the Pelican Nebula so should give that one some love in the title too
That night sky in Joshua Tree is just magical - gotta get out there someday again to shoot some nightscape.
EDIT: - also meant to mention how cool the phases of the moon composite animation is, ands a shout out the the nightscape at Black Canyon of the Gunnison too!
