A very image Ben. The low clouds above the barn add a lot of interest to this. If I may suggest a crop to lose a bit of the sky above the small cloud for a 16x9 crop.

Thanks Jameel. I meant to do that, just like the one on my wall:) I will get around to it.

Sweet image of this icon. I like Jameel's suggestion of losing a bit of the blue sky with a 16x9 frame. The frame makes the barn and the peaks take the center stage a bit more and deemphasizes the naked skies.

I always love this image Ben. Great to see it again. Did you specifically crop to "16 x 9" or did you do it by eye?

Jeffrey I have frames and mats for every hang spot so I need to keep them at a preset ratio. Not very artistic I realize but poor guys must weigh their options

did you have another ratio in mind? You caught me

Ben, just wondering. Personally, I never use any mathematical preconceived ratio. The image tells me how to crop it. In this case, I would have moved the top border down just to the point that looked best to my fairly well developed sense of space. Your crop here looks great.

Jeffrey that’s what set us apart. You are not forfeiting artistic value for money

I choose early on that I was mostly a skllled amateur and aimed for that. I seek no handicap

I know how ran your business or pursue music. I am in awe of you

This is special, and shows why this is such a wonderful place to shoot. I have a positively awful capture from here the day we visited when it was overcast and raining. Conversely, this is a great version and I do not mind the blue sky at all. In fact, I am going to be one of the folks who votes for the uncropped version - it just feels a little less cramped to my eyefor whatever reason, and I like letting that blue sky gradient transition all the way to that deeper blue at the top.

The light is special, even without a lot of clouds in the sky. That wisp of fog over the barn is perfect and I much prefer the cropped version.

With rare exceptions, I tend to crop to established ratios too.

Hey Ben,

I am getting to this one a bit late, but I am glad I got to it. It's definitely special.

I think the poor blue sky gets a really bad rap. A blue sky when the sun is high in the sky can be bad, but when the sun is lower in the sky, I think the blue is actually better then if the sky was filled with clouds. I might even be inclined to clone out that lone cloud.

Clouds are awesome no doubt, but blue skies can also be quite complimentary in how they can compliment ground colors, or in this case the color of the barn, compliments the color in the sky perfectly.

Another beautiful and memorable image Ben. I can’t choose a favorite among all you’ve shared—especially since you keep adding one masterpiece after another!

This is my own personal favorite (#4) in spite of a blue sky. It may cast light on some features of photography that are difficult to reconcile

Crop to 16x9 per Jameel and Alans advice and my original intention.

Very nice picture Ben, the cottage in the foreground adds to the character of the landscape. I would leave more air above the mountains, the more sky the more interesting and beautiful the picture. The lack of sky "presses" too much on the mountain tops. I would try cropping halfway between the full and cropped image.

one of my favorite places, despite the fact that it's over photographed and overcrowded. your rendition is beautiful, i like the pano crop. the low lying clouds adds a bit of mood to the image.
