Sunny,Hi Bob,
Nice find! I would've liked to see more of the water instead of the foreground rock.
Alan,Interesting find - you could have passed this off as Horseshoe Bend for the most part. I like the scene and hopefully less of a crowded mess as the real Horseshoe Bend has turned in to these days.
I understand Sunny's lament about too much foreground rock at the bottom but I have no idea in what you would have to do to access a view without it.
Jameel,Nice find and a nice image. I agree with Sunny about more water, though not sure if that is possible i.e. if the place from which the image is taken allows that.
Great suggestions. I will try darkening the foreground.Hey Bob, this is super cool! I was thinking by the look of this that you might have been too close to an edge.
One thing I would do is darken that foreground rock to match the rest of the color/darkness of the rocks around the bend. That will visually help it be part of the scene I think.
My other thought was do you have a shot with a little more foreground? Just a bit more and perhaps it wouldn’t have that cut off feel either?
But I think with both suggestions. We could just be being nit picky. Overall this is a really cool spot, and it’s a great bend!
This is a great photo! I love the contrast of red rock and blue-green water. I don't mind the rock in the foreground. I like Jim's suggestion and am curious to see the version with darkened foreground.Great suggestions. I will try darkening the foreground.
Hi Bob,Sunny,
I completely agree with your comment. However, I was so close to the edge it would have been extremely dangerous to try and move forward to cut that out. I could have cropped it out but I thought it added some interest on how close to the edge I was. This is an uncropped image.
Bob
Oh, that is nice! Here is another version of the above image that I played with a bit.View attachment 26273
A beautiful view well captured Bob.Here is an image I captured yesterday. This is not horseshoe bend. It is another bend in the Colorado river that is very very difficult to get too. I would like to know what everyone thinks of this image.View attachment 26261
Ha ha, that's so true Tim!Bob, your description reminds me of an old waterfall picture I have looking down the falls and out the river below. These days I get near that fall and my wife tells me not to even think about it. Safety restraints come in all sizes
