Not safe if you are hungry

Many years ago I did some food photography for a friend who was starting a restaurant. Didn't know anything about this genre or what I was getting into. Got myself a light tent and a couple of lights and went to work. Here are a few from that effort. The big part of this is actually dressing up the dish - which on hindsight should have been done better. Basically shot what his actual serving was going to be. Printed some posters which was put on the walls of the restaurant.

Pretty good illustrations for his menu for someone who hadn't tried this before. The nice part about what you did lies in the fact that what is served in the restaurant actually does look like the item on the poster.

Food illustrations for advertising is a niche specialty in photography and the ones who are really good at it go to some rather amazing ends to make the image entice you into buying a product. Most of the foods illustrated in grocery store ads aren't even vaguely safe to eat by the time the photographer shoots the item.

Thanks Alan. I was reasonably satisfied with the results and more importantly my friend was too.
