The winding mountain road to get to these poppies is old Route 66 and is a bit rough, but worth it.
Thank you, Alan. This was my first post at Focal World. I will see if I can update the post with a larger image. Those look really nice. Any chance you have a slightly larger version of this image? I'd love to see more of this.

Thanks for the suggestion, Jim. I will try that!I might crop out the bottom out of focus flowers.
Thanks for the welcome, Jeffrey! Yes, it definitely is a surprise to see those poppies as you are driving along!Beautiful, Terry, and welcome. I've driven by and checked out Oatman more than a few times and never imagined this scene could be nearby.
Thanks for the welcome , Doug!Welcome aboard, Terry. Nice image to start off with.
Thanks for the welcome, Jim! April seems to be a great time for poppies!Hi Terry!
Welcome to FocalWorld!
Doug told me great things about you so it’s awesome to have you join us!
it’s funny that your first image is of poppies as I am actually sitting on top of a hill out by Antelope Valley surrounded by poppy flowers as I wait for the sun to set and the moon to rise and the Milky Way to come up. So it’s nice to see those poppies while I can see and smell the poppies here.
As for the size, it looks totally fine on my iPhone screen. If it was any bigger it wouldn’t fit on my screen without scrolling. Verticals in my mind should always be smaller then horizontal photos for that reason.![]()
