Went out shooting along the river and ran across our national bird again!
I think this is about as close as I can get to a bald eagle without him spooking... I think he was just calm as it was snowing and no people anywhere (for once).
Eagle encounters are one of the most exciting events in landscape photography (unless you are in British Columbia, where they are everywhere!). Nice capture, Craig.
Beautiful !
Oddly enough we have them all over the Hudson valley just 15 miles up the Hudson river from NYC and more so this time of year when they come down from Canada to fish in the Hudson in the un frozen sections.
That is a truly special shot! Glad to see our eagle-eyed Jim Fox got it the Daily Featured status it deserves. I got a similar image up in AK but was down below shooting up into a white featureless sky. Your image, with the rock perch and the snow appearing only against the bird is truly wonderful.
There is an issue with Uploading Photos (attachjments). I am not sure what the problem is, and I am looking into it. You can still try to Create your Threads and Upload your Photos, but it is hanging up during the Upload.
