Orchid

The lighting combined with the point of view on the orchid is fun to view. Nice work.

How were you able to control the lighting and scene so well in a botanical garden? This almost looks like studio work.

This is really gorgeous Jeff, I wonder how it would look with the lower flower cropped out?

Nice work. The b&w, lighting and crop for me give this a kind of ghostly feel. I like it.

Thanks Alan! I think that the lighting in the greenhouse helped out a lot. There were some fairly decent shadowed areas in the background and a little burning took care of them pretty easily.

Thank you, Ben! I get the want to isolate even more, but to me the lower flower adds an anchor to the scene and gives something more for the orchid to 'stand' on (if that makes sense).

Thanks Scott - glad you like it.

Is this IR? That Black is such an awesome black, rich, deep and dark.
Negative! Standard b&w conversion. It's gonna suck so much ink when I print it, ha.

Very nice. Another nod to Ben's question/suggestion.

Thanks for the comments, guys! Much appreciated.:)
