Over the sea to Skye

It is possible to sail but is quicker by bridge and you get to go past this magic castle
Eilean Donan Castle. I can't drive past here without stopping, this is it in a very calm mood.

Now a multi shot pano of a Corrie high in the Cuillin hills. We walked up to here, any further and it was serious climbing. We returned back down into Glen Brittle just before an Atlantic storm swept in. We were passed by a man in sandshoes and light clothing who asked the way up on to the ridge, no map, no waterproofs, no food, no water, no brains. It is difficult to get a true impression of the scale look for Danny MacAskill The Ridge.

Neist Point sticks out into the ocean and is usually lashed by huge waves my luck was to go here on a dull and calm day saved by a little sun just before it hit the sea, I will return

This was taken from an island in Broadford Bay. Standing there hoping firstly that the rain would stop and then that the sun would just break through for a few seconds. I got 10 minutes without rain but no sun.

Lastly my favourite image of Skye and until recently my favourite image
This is one of the Fairy Pools a series of waterfalls and pools in a tiny river that flows out of the Cuillin mountains. Unfortunately it is very busy and on this day a party of French students were jumping off the falls and swimming in the larger pools making photography, or at least my kind of photography impossible. This image reminds me of the 18th and 19th century Scottish landscape painters.

This is some seriously nice images. I agree that your last may be the best, but the third is a close contender.

Very interesting Ken!

Yeah, I would be wanting to stop by the Eilean Donan Castle also if I was heading that way. What a really cool shot with the water in the foreground like that.

My favorites are #1,3 and 5. And as to your comment about the guy wanting to head out into the wilderness with no preparations, it's really amazing that there are not more deaths and injuries then there are from people today heading out without proper clothing, supplies or training. It is often sheer folly.

I enjoy the mood in your photography. I would like to walk in those castles one day.
