Hey Ben,

This is a nice shot you have here. Oxbow Bend is a favorite location of mine.

A couple of thoughts for you on this.

1st, it's my preference, but I wouldn't fill the lower right corner with the dead grasses. Since its after sunrise, the coveted view spot by the parking lot should be pretty free from people. What's nice with that spot is then you can fill the right side with those fall color brush. And also you can get a comp where you are not cutting off the top of Moran.

2nd, your colors may be accurate, but they seem dull to me. It's fall color, use the Saturation adjustment here and get a few colors to pop more. :)

Thanks Jim, I always go down to the other spot these days. I had not learned that when I shot this. And yes, this looks way different on my home monitor, I think it's a color space issue. I will start over because I am not sure where in my workflow it went off.

Right, I made a Focal action that downsized and assigned profile rather than convert profile. The PSD was in Prophoto and assign to profile just washed it out. I need to reconvert most of my gallery images.

I think somewhere between the two profiles presented here, the first capture has palatable sense of morning, where as the second brings out the beautiful colors as if they are glowing from within.

Hey Ben,

I am loving the update! I really like what you did there. :)

And it shows the importance of the Color Profile on a photo. It can seem like such a little detail, but it can make a huge impact on how the photo looks.

Thanks Jim, it does, and I know better, it was just like a mistake, all my convert for web actions use Convert, this was just a slip up, but it affected every wide image in my gallery. My 800 high action was correct.

Very nice shot, Ben and the re-post is very revealing on the importance of the profile. Like Kyle, I like both versions but the second really pops!

Ben,
I guess I thought you were just going for a muted look to the image but after seeing the re-do I guess I stand corrected. The color space adjustment makes a huge difference in this image. Stunning image and great to see how this all came together with the C&C.
