Two years ago in May, my friend and I were driving the White Rim trail and found this truck at the bottom below Murphy's hogback. The driver was a service guy and rolled off the road the day before. I inquired this year and was tole he survived and is working at another park.

That was my thoughts when I saw it. I guess he rolled down the hill starting from a nearly stopped speed and the roll bar saved him.

That's crazy Ben! I think if something happened like that to me, I would want to go work at a different park.

I suspect the park service thought the same thing. At the time there was a deep trench next to the last steep incline to the top or Murphy's Hogback. They had filled it with rocks, but I suspect that was after the accident. He probably spun his wheels until he got tipped over and rolled down the hill.

This year the road was all graded and smooth and the truck had been removed.
