This is the sunset I was treated to on my last evening at Organ Pipe. I really cant wait to go back, the serenity there was incomparable only bested by my frigid night at the Racetrack playa. I spent three days at OP trying to learn how to compose in such dense vegetation (I guess cacti qualify?) Or, rather the mix of barren gravels and dense vegetation. At any rate, this is my best effort in finding that balance on my last night there. Can’t wait to go back. Happy last day of 2017, may 2018 bring great things.

16-35 f4L @35mm, f22, 4.0 sec. CirPol. Two shot blend for focus and exposure.

Very nice Aaron - good silhouettes on the organ pipe cacti and a nice halo for the thorns of the chain fruit cholla. And yes cacti are vegetation - there is actually a national forest up near the Phoenix area that has vast swaths of lower sonoran desert in it.

Thanks Alan, not sure why I doubted cactus being vegetation haha

Nice job on finding a composition, which is perhaps my weakest point. Good light and very good blending. Overall a very nice image.
Thanks Ben!

Really sweet Aaron! Nice job on finding order out of chaos, and great job processing this. You sure ended 2017 with a bang!
