Peridot Mesa, AZ

I have been doing the "Wildflower Quickstep," driving from place to place to capture this wonderful spring in Arizona. Today's location is Peridot Mesa on he San Carlos Apache reservation. I have been here before, but this is an outstanding year with the variety and size of plants greater than I have ever seen. I love poppies but they are a problem because they don't open until 10 o'clock in the morning when the light starts getting harsh. This was taken around noon.

Incredible - hard to believe I am looking at images from this part of Arizona. I love the clouds in the first two images and of course the blooms are just amazing.

Wow Doug! These are just saw awesome! I wish I was there to watch you do that two step dance.... ;)

All of these look great, and the light doesn't look harsh in any of them. I think our post processing tools today have a way of removing any harshness in our photos these days. I certainly don't notice it as much as I used to.

I think you posted this in the order that I like them best, though #2, with all of those flowers and that cool cloud formation really keeps calling out to me.
