Pleiades - A Short Imaging Session

I shot the Pleiades (man that is hard to spell

) last night for a total of 54 minutes. 65, 50 second exposures at 1600 ISO. Shot with my Pentax K-1 and Stellarvue SV80 Access.

I think I got decent nebulosity for the short total exposure, but I am no expert. This is the first time I shot this object.

Very good Andrew. You have some really nice detail with this. You did good even with the shorter exposure.

Yes that is great detail in the nebulosity for that length of total integration. And you are right, I STILL have to look the spelling up on this one every time I try to type it

M45 (see how I chickened out on typing that other name? ) is one of those objects that just keeps adding details the longer you go. An amazing object for sure. You did very good on this one.

Wow, this is a great image! Your tracking is spot-on, and that scope and huge number of full frame pixels seem to be doing well for you. My dad has my older but very similar SV80, and I didn't get anything this good out of it. (It might be worth another try with a good camera.) Are you using a reducer to bring the focal length down from 560mm and flattening the field? Nice job on this!
