Pollinators and Dandelions

I know many people hate dandelions but they are quite beautiful and supply much needed pollen early in the season for insects that need it.

Here is some pollen just waiting to be disturbed.

This bee's wings are a bit beat up but it is certainly doing its job moving pollen around.

An ant was also digging in the flower for food.

Nice set of images. With these macro shots it doesn't really seem like something nasty at all. I like the bee and ant shots.

It is funny that dandelions are considered weeds but they are so important! The bee looks so good in #1, good timing! Now I would never have thought about an ant eating a dandelion. How truly interesting!
