River Irthing at Coombe Crag (again)

More shots from my visit on Thursday. Lots of foam in the river producing lots of streaks. As you can see the river is very brown as it flows from a vast peat bog.

Lastly, despite being very excited by the image on the rear screen I can't work out how to process it to my satisfaction, this is my best attempt.

This visit was just a scouting mission for a return for the Autumn colours and I am happy with the images produced and have much more knowledge of the river height that I want. It is only 5 mies from home to where I park the car but the walk is almost another 5 mile round trip with a descent and ascent of 1,000ft so not a quick trip just to see what it looks like. Ken

You get some really nice swirling action below those falls. Hard to pick favorites but I like the overall view in #1 and the view in #3. I do like the color shots for this scene better than the B&W. The color differentiation in the water adds to making the swirling action more visible at least for my feeble eyes.

Each one is a masterpiece Ken! I can’t imagine how you could improve on it. These each is fine art at it’s best.

Thanks everybody, I am happy with 1 and 2 but hope that some Autumn colour will improve the view. Ken
