Salvage Saturday

Time to post your reworked images.

This is from Monument Valley out on the loop. They left the gate open and I was not aware that the loop road was closed at night.

This is not a hard image to process, and I have done so many times. But this time I went for a darker look to emphasis the mystery. I wanted to display the rock details against the misty sky.

I like the darker look Ben. Good job on the rework. The clouds rising up from behind work well to add a sense of mystery.

Zion National Park, UT (March 2012) Nikon D700 Re-edited RAW file to share on Salvage Saturday, principally because when viewing the Lightroom thumbnails I thought I had inadvertently captured a standing man in a suit in the lower right of the image, Looking in the main window, I realized it was just the shadows of the rock face. Nevertheless I proceeded with the edit for luminosity and color,

Hey Ben,

I am a day late, and a dollar short! :)

This is from 2007. As I was looking through, it's amazing how many bracketed images I captured at Bryce Canyon. I would manually bracket, and typically it would be 3 images. 1 for the ground, 1 for the sky, and 1 inbetween. But as I picked out a couple of sets and then ran them through ACR, it's funny, today with the power of ACR, actually all 3 brackets, could be made to work and look well. It was interesting to see just how far we have come.

This one is a 2 image pano, one to have the ground and a little bit of sky, and the other had mainly sky and a little bit of ground. And I didn't want all of the sky, but I wanted a little more then what was captured in the ground layer.

Sweet sunrise - I have been looking back at image sets I took when I was more actively bracketing my shots and finding that LR/ACR can do things I didn't think were possible back in the day. Good example here.

I might start doing more brackets again knowing what can be done now.

Beautiful image Jim and I have the same experience with brackets. By the way which bracket did you use? I am betting the dark.
