Salvage Saturday

Good starting point Ben.

I have what turned out to be a challenging salvage job from a drive up the Gorge back in 2007. A very hazy day that almost wasn't worth stopping to shoot but I paused at Cape Horn just because the fall colors were near peak.

First up is the original, This is straight out of the camera:

A thorough overhaul with a pass through to DxO PureRAW followed by a lot of work in both LR and Photoshop to get rid of horrid dust bunnies and to tease some details and color out of the fall color show:

I have only done it a few times I think, but it's cool to see the before and after on these when possible. Good job on the recovery Alan.

Nice anti haze job. I Wes certainly surprised the first time I tried that on a smoggy view of Utau lake

now it just seems to be baked in to the newer software.

I recall using small amount large radius to get similar results
