SH2-290

[Gramps Potter]

So, I was a little nervous when I finally decided to try to process this Planetary Nebula, SH2-290 or also known as Abell 31. It’s known for being extremely dim and I only had 2.5 hours of hydrogen and 2.5 hours of oxygen data on it. However, the masters showed promise! I could not believe how pleased I was when I did the first HOO combo and already saw the nice teal! What a treat.
Camera=ZWO 2600 mm
Scope =SVX 130
Mount=MyT
Filters=Baader Ha and O3
Subframes=5 minutes
Processing=Pixinsight
Movie=Hallmark Rom Com

Ha ha, Bob, first off I have to say I appreciate your movie choice!

I am not sure I have heard of this planetary nebula before. But it sure looks great. I am thinking that the Astro processing software is getting better and better, so perhaps not as long of integration times are needed anymore?

Wow, this is very nice! Good info too. I will have to try this at some point myself. Looks like the 2600M did a nice job for sure. What gain setting did you image this at?
