Shore Acres Moonscape II

The exposed rock faces at Shore Acres State Park looks a lot like a moonscape to begin with but shooting them in IR takes it a bit farther. Taken with a 590nm converted Canon 5D MkII with a 720nm filter.

Thanks Jim - I made a point of hauling around 2 camera bodies just in case something might work out for IR. Not everything I tried did but this one was one of the better results.

This is really cool! I have never shot with an IR body, but often admire the very different view of the world IR light provides. My first reaction was that this was a snow and ice covered landscape. Love the reflection too. Well done!

Thanks Stephan - the winterly look is from the 720nm IR which is one of my favorite parts of the IR spectrum.

Thanks Amy - I honestly had no idea how well IR would work for this scene until I saw the result. I have the same scene with my regular camera body but it doesn't have the same alien mood to it.

Thanks Jameel - I did play around with this in SilverEfex but didn't really like the results compared to color.
