Skiing Mt. Pilchuck

We took advantage of the only government shutdown benefit I can think of - the forest service didn't have the $ to shut down the road to Mt. Pilchuck yet so we managed to drive all the way to the trailhead parking lot for a rare easy winter climb. Due to recent rain then freeze cycles the snow had a manky breakable icy crust which resulted in a very slow, cautious descent (very few actual turns, mostly traverses with kick turns to change direction). The views, good exercise, and having the mountain to ourselves made up for it.

Hey Jim, I am glad you got some benefit from the shutdown.

I like Mt Baker the best here, and your Three Fingers seems too dark, I would brighten that middle area a bit more.
