Snowbound Anna's Hummingbird

Not looking like a great fan of playing in the snow :D

We have been bringing several of our hummingbird feeders at night to keep them from freezing solid. The hummers go nuts in the mornings when Nancy hangs the feeders back up with outside temps in the high 20's and low 30's.

This little guy has been nectaring at our feeder but the heavy snowfall disrupted his feeding pattern. He just sat in the Palo Verde Tree and didn't seem to know what to do other than rest and conserve energy. We had to continually go out and clean off the feeder as the snow piled up so he could nectar.

Beautiful little guy, I hope he doesn't freeze!

That hummer doesn't look too impressed with his surroundings. Was this an unexpected snowfall?
We only get snow around here a couple of times a year. This species stays around here all year long.

Wow, I never thought they would be in a snowy enviroment. It does make for a stunning shot though.
Usually, we only get snow a couple of time a year. Interestingly, we usually get the biggest storms in March
