I recently stumbled upon photos of my winter 2019 road trip to Zion National Park. This was a celebration of sorts because I had accepted a new job. So, I quit my part time job and drove from Sacramento to Reno to Las Vegas, and then to Zion. After Zion I drove to the Grand Canyon.
Before arriving in Zion, I stayed in Las Vegas an extra night because there was a snowstorm in Utah. This photo comes from when I first entered the park. I was in awe.
These were taken with a Pentax K-30.
This shot is from near the Three Patriarchs just after sunset. I had signed up for a photography tour; the guide taught me about how to recognize certain lighting conditions.
I loved how massive the red cliffs were, and how the trees were coated in a fresh layer of snow.
Our photo group drove around and stopped in random spots. This was one such spot where someone spotted a snow-covered hoodoo.
