Sometimes you have to just hang out

I caught this scene last spring. Busses were coming and going. It was a total white out situation. But since I am in the park often I knew just to wait a while. You could hear the roar of the falls, then all of a sudden, here comes a vision. Yosemite reveals itself to those who dare to wait.

Fun to see the falls just peeking out from behind the veil of clouds. Nice job on knowing what you wanted and how you might get it.

Something I know I got caught up in for a while, and think other photographers do to...is trying to be too much about the image, capturing something, worrying about if its perfect or not, or good light. When we need to be enjoying the place, the space, the moment, the conditions. Just to be in Yosemite is an awesome thing, on my trip there I found myself just taking it in, and not worrying so much about the lousy weather. It was a turning point for me. It does pay to be ready though...just in case a fine image like this comes along!;)

Many thanks to all. Glad that as landscape photographers we all know that the enjoyment of the moment in whatever environment we are in is our guilty pleasure. The added surprise of light and what Mother Nature gives us is just a bonus.

I have not made it to Yosemite since winter this year and will probably miss the huge waterfalls, but Tioga pass just opened up so I must put a trip through the park on the calendar soon.

On another note I was at one of the galleries I am in on the eastern side of my Sierra yesterday and the rivers and creeks are still raging! We are in for a fall with more water than we have seen in years!
