Soul Nebula

The Soul Nebula (aka IC 1848) is an emission nebula about 6500 light-years from Earth. It's a star-forming region that includes several open clusters of stars and large evacuated bubbles formed by the winds of young massive stars.

This image is the result of 6-2/3 hours of exposure time (50 images at 8 minutes each), taken over 3 nights in November and December 2021.

Very cool indeed Bill! Love it! So many fine details in this.

The Heart and the Soul Nebula's are two that I did manage to capture with my DSLR about a year ago, and the results were decent. But since then I have looked forward to capturing better images of them. The 2 you have posted of them both give me something to shoot for.

Great work Bill. Lovely deep red colors make this one pop. I have an image taken under light pollution with just an Ha filter of this one - need to go back and add the other bands to that data set sometime.
