Took a quick trip up to the park with photographer friends before the reservation system kicks in for the year. We were able to drive a fair way up Trail Ridge Road before it was closed off, and then walk up a bit farther. The weather was typical CO high country spring weather, which is to say all over the place. There was some fleeting sun jumping in and out of clouds and some drizzle that eventually turned to real rain and ended our excursion for the day when we were down lower in the park. The light was challenging and there was a haze layer in the air too, so lots of things I tried did not pan out.
This shot was worked from a 3 shot bracket, and the color version just didn't work well, plus some treetops moved into the bottom of the frame right before I snapped the picture
After converting to B&W and cropping off the bottom I liked what I got a lot more, and this is in the running for my only keeper from the trip. Comments and critiques most welcome. This is from the Rainbow Curve area along Trail Ridge Road, early afternoon.
