Like Zeph I have been troubled over what to classify images from the Portland Japanese Gardens under. I passed them off as Landscape on FM but that only works if you consider human landscaping as part of Landscape. What we see at the gardens is not the result of nature - it is a very carefully staged setting for the pleasure of the humans that visit. As photography members we got to come in at 8:00AM and had two hours of the place to ourselves before general admission.
The gardeners of the garden are very careful to stage their creation and as photographers we got to sample their offerings. This is one of them. I did not place that strategic leaf where you see it and the chances that it fell there are pretty much zero but there were interesting little "easter eggs" like this all over the garden at opening time for the photographers.
I have decided to call this one a still life photo all things considered....
C&C always welcome.
