Thanks Ben!Excellent
Thanks Alan, yes , as soon as I lookd at it I knew I had to take out the camera.Wow - this looks a lot more active than the last one of these you posted. Nice time to be shooting this gaseous orb.
Thanks Jim, If you are talking about a white light filter you would not get the prominences but it will show sunspots. Hydrogen Alpha scopes show both.Wow Chuck!!! This is really awesome! Love them both!
I am thinking of the upcoming solar eclipse in May and wanting to get a solar filter for my scope to capture it. But seeing this one of yours, do you have any idea if I could be imaging the sun now if I had the solar filter now? I would imagine it wouldn't be as good as your Lunt, but I wonder if the solar filter would be good enough to get by?
Thanks Chuck. Not sure what I am talking about as to a type of solar eclipse filter. Prior to this I had one for my DSLR that was just a super thick ND filter. Thanks Jim, If you are talking about a white light filter you would not get the prominences but it will show sunspots. Thanks Mike, You don't need a big solar scope or a big mount. You can set these up anywhere and get great views of the sun, especially now that it is active.Amazing stuff! Every time you post these type of images I have to resist the pull of getting a dedicated solar scopeI would also say that the processing choices you mention above for getting best results - yeah, don't change a thing my friend, these are jaw dropping!
