Great starter as always Alan.

This week I would like to be indulged by showing a few before images of my Spokane garden. Pretty ugly in the early days and the image quality is also pretty bad. I am not even sure how I got these, probably scanned by Seattle film works.

When we first moved in, 1990

At the end of the second year.

I really like seeing the garden develop Ben and of course he finished product that you've shared with us before is fantastic. I really wish I'd thought to set up a few spots that I returned to shoot perhaps once a season in my garden every year to see the progression. Would make a cool slide show. I hope you have more shots to show us your progression.

The picture below shows one of my favorite new art additions to our yard - a steel heron that pivots on a pedestal. I got it for my wife on our anniversary two years ago. I put it on a little hill above a dry waterfall (bed of white rocks) with a metal salmon swimming up, which we've had for many years. The artist is local and I see him every week or two at our local farmers market.

Thanks for your comments Jim, I do have more if I can find them  Love your waterfall and art. Gardens can be so relaxing (after the work of course)

Wow - you really did some serious work getting that garden up to what it looked like when you left Spokane. Impressive effort and I am glad you decided to post these.

Very nice work Jim - I like the idea of the dry stream bed and especially the low maintenance part. Neat metalwork decorations.
