Sunrise Storm

Before the clouds closed down in my previous Bryce Canyon post, there was a storm happening at sunrise which made for an interesting look. I shot this one tighter to get in closer to the action in the background. It does feel a bit off balance to me, but this is an older archived shot so I don't recall why I composed it as I did. The best I can guess is I was either too focused with the storm or I was trying to balance the light and rain on the right with the hoodoo's on the left, but I honestly don't remember.

All comments are welcome,

Jim

Rare for a monsoon storm so early in the day before any heating takes place. This makes the valley beyond the Bryce amphitheater look far more interesting than it usual.

Really nice Jim. This is one of those images that can really result with a screwed up white balance but it looks like you nailed it! I love the bold contrasts of skies and foreground.

Jim,
Very neat with all the varying contrasts. I also think this would be really neat with something like a 6x17 crop or close losing some off the top and some off the bottom.

Dean
