Super moon from Lost Dutchman Museum

Hey Marcy,

What a really awesome shot! The long lens was great to compress the scene and enlarge the moon even more.

I am usually very patient when it comes to sticking around and waiting for sunsets to appear or moons to rise. But I have found myself in your boat more then once, and thankfully like you, I was paying attention anyway and was able to turn back around or just pull over and shoot it. So I think we have all experienced what you have, the key is to still stay aware even as we have the gear packed up. And it's a good think you were keeping your eyes open still! :)

I like this. Good catch!
I like your cactus down there.

Never give up! I made that mistake last week in Canyonlands. It was dull and dreary all day (like now). But I drove up, waited and waited. Nothing changed. So I left. When I was around ten miles back down from the Green River Overlook the sky just lit up.. The best I'd seen in a long time. But, too late for me.

beautiful, Marcy! Lovely moon and the dark silhouettes - especially the iconic and elegant cactus - really set off the colour and light of the moon and its shrouded veil.

I think you got some icing on the cake here, instead of clinical clean moon.
I am considering this luck.

Cheers!
