This was taken at the Peone Prairie wetlands just north of Spokane, it was only 8 miles from my home so it was a great place to get birds.

Hey Ben,

That is really colorful! Here in Socal, we get Seagulls, and well more Seagulls. I am sure we have more birds then that, maybe some crows? But for as colorful as SoCal is, we sure really don't seem to have any colorful birds.

Thanks Alan, yes these are pretty drab outside of breeding season. But in season they are very colorful.

Thanks Jim, I am pretty sure you have brown pelicans which have great color in breeding. Also there is a great wildlife refuge along the coast south of the Airport, not sure how far south, but I stopped then once on my way to the airport.

Thanks you Martin, yes they are beautiful birds during mating season, a bit drab at other times, but they are a delight to see and listen too in spring.
