The layers and s-curve in the first are nice, but I really like that wide view with snow in the background in the second. Thanks for sharing!

Wow Bob! I sure like these. That sinewy S curve in #1 is so cool, but that horseshoe in #2 is equally cool. The snow adds so much to this.

These have me wondering if I can sneak out there for an overnighter... I have a relative coming in tomorrow, but maybe I can still sneak away somehow...

I like the wide view in the second one. The first one is very nice but the second one engages me a bit more.

Jim,
If you go be for warned that it is extremely muddy. There was several spots you can easily get stuck in the mud. I had a back up second vehicle with me just in case one of us got stuck. There is also snow everywhere on the rim and where there was no snow the ground was very muddy. Good luck!

Very well done imaging here, Bob. I'm not sure where this is!
Jeffrey,
Tatahotso point is a remote area on Navajo land overlooking the horseshoe like bend in the Grand Canyon. You also need a permit from the Navajo's to drive out to the spot. Take care.

Great shots Bob, what kind of vehicle do you have? Have you ever been out Toroweap?
Johnny,
I drive a Toyota 4 runner but it has an extra 3 inch lift and a modified steel plate under the entire chassis to replace the factory skid plate. Gets me where I want to go. No I have not been to Toroweap but from what i now the road out to Toroweap if just fine for most SUV's.

I currently have a sedan with front wheel drive which is very restricting. I rented a Chevy Tahoe with 4 wheel drive in January for the Kanab trip. It was nice to get out to places I am not able to go normally. Tried to get to the Paria ghost town, but 3 miles in, the mud was so thick, even with 4 wheel drive, I had no traction as the street tires treads were caked in mud.
We were going to go to Toroweap, the next day but I just got spooked after Paria. Since the temps were below freezing, I guess the benefits of getting stuck in the winter is that you can just wait for the mud to freeze at night and drive out, haha!

But I am saving up for a 4 Runner. Hopefully I can buy one by 2020 :)

Johnny,
The tires are the most important part of your vehicle when doing off road driving. Make sure you get a good set of mud tires preferably with 4 ply side walls.

AWESOME shots Bob!!! So happy to hear that you were finally able to get back out there. I know how much you wanted this composition to have snow in the picture. Sounds like it was quite an adventure.
