The Americana in Glendale

I went up to Glendale which is an older part of Los Angeles, next to Pasadena for those not familiar. Well it was the Vegas Seafood Buffet with their all you can eat Crab Legs that got me going there for dinner, but I had brought my camera as I figured about the time dinner was done, I could go and get in some Street photography and maybe some City shots.

So I am starting backwards basically, I will process some Street photos later, but seeing some color in the sky, processing these shots with the clouds became a priority. :)

The Americana is a large outdoor mall area in Glendale, it has this cool water fountain in a central grassy court area of the mall. This was handheld at 1/8th of a sec shutter speed. The VR on the Nikon 24-120mm lens works great. There were trees all around me, so I was limited as to how much I could move back without getting leaves and trees into the frame in the sky.

All comments are welcome,

Jim

This is really great Jim. My grandparents lived in Glendale in the 40's and 50's and I spent a good deal of time with them. I bet I would not recognize it at all.

I am in the same boat as you. My parents grew up in Glendale and I had grandparents living in Pasadena we visited a lot in the 50's. I attended a training class in Burbank about 10 years ago and looked around the area. I hardly recognized anything other than the hills.

The water drops look like fireworks against the sky, pretty cool ! Makes me want to jump in the water and swim for quarters
