… Forgive me. It is just interesting how differently the eye considers the scene with an older processing rendering.

I like this Iain! Thanks so much for giving a different take on this.

I am having a hard time with adding this much contrast. I like it, I just have to not be afraid of the contrast when I am editing. Did you add some grain and softness to it also?

… Jim: Yes, and vignetting. I always lightly blur and darken the edges of my images. Believe it furthers the illusion. And, there is never a reason for the eye to wander out to the false borders of the image. It reminds that it is only a 2D picture.

… This morning I was watching some YouTubes on Saul Leiter. An absolute master at creating magic from earlier camera technology. Magic which is lost with generations of technological “advancements”. Of course, camera companies blame everything else for their increasing commercial failure…

Its interesting that in an expensive lens, the parts of the image that are out of focus are the most important.
